Send off Rona With Words of Support! (Guest Post)

Hello, Rona Fans!

We here at Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Virginia are awed, touched, and inspired by the undertaking that Rona is making toward ending Alzheimer’s.  Rona sets off on her journey on March 5th.

This past week, we asked everyone here at the chapter to submit a quote, a thank you, a goofy (clean) joke, moving song lyrics; anything that might help Rona through the potentially dark and/or soggier parts of her journey across the country.  We then put the quotes on paper beads and put them on a safety pin ‘bike bracelet’ so that we could be with her in spirit through the thick of it.

Here are some of the quotes submitted:

We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.    President Ronald Reagan

She stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her away, she adjusted her sails.  Elizabeth Edwards

Be the change you want to see in the world.    Mahatma Ghandi

Nothing is impossible to a determined woman.   Louisa May Alcott

What great words of inspiration do you have for Rona?  Please add a comment below and let’s send Rona off with lots of love and support!

With love,

  1. Hey Rona- how very exciting and so very inspiring! Thank you for what you are doing to help raise awareness of this horrid disease! Will be thinking of you as you bike to help move the vision forward for a world without Alzheimer’s! You rock!!!

  2. Stay safe and enjoy the ride. You are a true inspiration to each of us and we will be with you in spirit as you bike across the U.S. to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and its impact on families. Nancy and Vince S.

  3. Rona, I will be thinking of you and saying prayers for your safety and endurance. You are an awesome inspiration to all of us who want a world without Alzheimer’s. Today, I spoke with two more family caregivers looking for help. Your mission gives us hope. Thank you!
